Dec 23, 2014 - What Works

These last few days, my drive has diminished... I feel the pull to solitude and self loath.

I need my strategy ..

What works - having somewhere to go in the morning and having to get ready.
Being around people.
Schedule and accountability
Having energy and eating well and having it laid out the planned (salads, juices, snacks)
Efficiency - shop in the morni for online
Structured day
Dogs at home for 5-6 consecutive hours w/o me and longer with a dog nanny
Take Benny with me
Cameras at home
Clean and tidy kitchen
Clean and tidy dining table
Clean and tidy home office
Preparing market stats and updates weekly for EEVREMG
Delegating tasks
My online efforts
Being creative

What fails - being home with too much of a flexible schedule
Not being intentional about - food and dinner, being social,
Doing too much puts me in overwhelm and shut down
Disorganized

Dec 19, 2014

Last several weeks, I've been do lots of WCR work.

  • I built a brand new website on wordpress
  • Created several graphics for the website Set up the Elections program (constant contact event and email)
  • Worked on  the Slate for 2015
  • Fielded conversations from WCRCA State
  • Researched venue for Install
  • Budget for Install
  • Constant Contact for Install (event and email)
  • Graphics and web page for Install
  • **Sponsor, admission, guest speaker**
  • Retreat
  • Solicit for sponsor (follow up - Mimi and Matt make first contact)
  • Follow up with potential members

It has consumed about 80% of my active time, but I really do not mind. I believe that this organization and all the efforts I put into it, is a benefit for me.

I am starting to set up a drip campaign for referrals from WCR friends.

Capital Club

I have been to a few events at the Silicon Valley Capital Club when SCCAOR had done its Toy for Tots event.

A few weeks ago, I was invited for a small intimate networking meeting. It was much different coming in the morning vs an afternoon event.

We had a nice corner area and not too many people around.

I stayed behind to talk to Esther, the membership gal. She gave me a tour. The wheels started turning in my head. What a great place to have access to.... a remote office in a cool area... much better than a Panera or Sbux.

The second time I was invited by Sonia Walia. We had lunch. The food was just ok... it was a salmon dish. The view from the corner was GREAT!

I still had a lease at my office at Regus so it was not practical to carry this extra expense, just yet!

An email from Esther around Thanksgiving with a great offer I just could not pass up! So off my application went.

On Sunday, Sept 7, Mig and I go to San Pedro Square. I mention to him the membership. He is intrigued!

Back at it - BLOG BLOG

Yesterday I sat in on a webinar the Lori Ballen put together using a content calendar.

This got me refocused on my blogging efforts for my business but also to integrate WCR.

The last few weeks I had been distracted with WCR work.

This morning, I went to the piktograph site, I really want to do infographics and this is a great resource!

December 13, 2014 - recap

Well, I am back in the mix with WCR....

Oct 14 - Attended BRM at SCCAOR - attendance was ok. Many new faces! I hope we can convert some of the new attendees to be member!

Spoke with PJ... dialogue with WCRCA state begins by email... when PJ documented our conversation by email and cc'd the state, it didn't feel good.

Journal:
Tues - had lunch at Panera, left SJ 1pm, issue with gas cap. Arrived Vegas 11pm. Stopped at a Barstow park for about an hour, stopped at Panda in Barstow for one hour. Gassed up. Miguel needed about two hours to load up the van and sort the garbage and put stuff away. It was just enough time to give me a chance to do some work. The night before I mopped the kitchen floor and bathroom. The kids helped me clean the bathroom and vacuum. I had done the laundry all week long.

Wed - went to Alyssa award ceremony then HoneyBaked and Costco. Bought rolls and pumpkin pie and milk. that night, we went to The Strip to check out High Roller. I got my brows done. Had Sprinkles - cupcakes and ice cream.  Went home and mom mad yummy ham sandwiches!

Thurs - Marissa made waffles and I made sausages. Mom made turkey PERFECTLY. I made simple mashed potatoes with butter and some milk with salt and pepper. A small batch I added roasted minced garlic. I also made sweet potatoes casserole. Mig made cranberry sauce. Mom made Menudo, yum!

Fri - leftovers.  airport.

Sat - stayed home and worked on PC

Sun - mostly home then ate out at Burgr.

Mon - picked up kids from school and took them to early dinner. Checked in at Sapphire Light House. All clean - needs paint, new carpet, appliances (stove missing). Did laundry and started packing.

Tues - go home - dropped off mom at airport at 7am. Gassed up and drive thru breakfast. On the road at 7:50am. Arrived in SJ around 4, stopped to pick up pizza. Stopped in Barstow for coffee.

Good ideas- ordered groceries from Amazon and had delivered to Vegas.(chips, cereal, syrup, pancake mix)
Brought bottled waters. Over the week we went thru 4 pkgs of bottled waters. One gallon waters would be smart for next time. No fresh strawberries at Smiths so went with frozen, defrost!!
